What is your storage policy?

Zellij Gallery does not store customer’s orders. When production is complete and the order is ready to ship, our customers are required to pay in full and provide shipping arrangements. A storage fee of 5 % per month will be added from the arrival notification date for up to 3 months. After the initial 3 months period, the items will be disposed of in a way we deem necessary.

What is your installation policy?

Zellij Gallery does not accept responsibility or liability for installation, sealing or refinishing of any product. Please review the installation instructions and maintenance guidelines before installation. We recommend using a professional installer for best results. Zellij Gallery is not responsible for problems arising from improper installation, use or care of the tiles.

What is your damaged merchandise policy?

Our quality team makes sure that all merchandise is in good condition and properly packaged before leaving the factory. Unless otherwise indicated, orders are shipped F.O.B. Los Angeles.

Damage due to shipping is rare, but does happen occasionally. Immediately upon delivery please review the shipment for accuracy of materials ordered, including quantity, quality, and color, and for any shipping damage. Do not allow the driver to leave without signing for the material and taking pictures. All claims for shortage, incorrect product or damage must be noted on the bill of lading and submitted in writing to Zellij Gallery, Inc within 7 business days.

How does the shipping and handling work?

We strive to provide our customers with safest and most affordable means in all shipping areas. Please be advised that delivery is not included in the price of the tile and all shipping charges are the responsibility of the customer.

All orders are curbside. Drivers will usually unload the delivery off the truck, but you will be responsible for getting your order inside and from the curb. Someone must be present to unload and sign for the order. The driver will not take the tile into your home or business. Our shipping company will usually call you to arrange a delivery.

If you need special delivery options such as a lift gate, inside delivery, or handicapped assistance, please notify the freight company and they can usually arrange for an extra fee. Zellij Gallery will not be responsible for these additional fees. They will be the responsibility of the customer. Any redelivery fees will also be the customer’s responsibility.

What is your order cancellation and or return policy?

Zellij Gallery is a custom handmade tile manufacturer, therefore all sales are final and we are unable to accept cancellations or returns after production has begun. Please be advised that all deposits are non-refundable.

What are your payments terms?

All projects equal or less than $10,000 are prepay.

For all Projects over $10,000, we require a 50% non-refundable deposit to initiate production. The balance will be paid once your order is ready for pick-up or shipping at the warehouse in Los Angeles. We accept Checks, Cashier’schecks, wire transfers. **Full payment is required in advance for items in stock**

What is your Pricing?

Our Pricing varies depending on the products ordered, quantity and lead time. Beside the jobs already bid on or quoted, Zellij Gallery reserves the right to change the price on any of its products without an advance notice.

What is the ordering process?

After receiving your order, our sales agreement and invoice will be sent to you. At that time, all applicable changes or revisions should be made. Once the signed copy is sent back. We will initiate the production.

What is the minimum order?

$1500 is the minimum order quantity for non-stocked custom Zellij items.

50 Sqft for non-stocked cement tile and field tile.

What is your warranty policy?

All Zellij Gallery Tile Products are hand-made and sold “AS IS” without any warranty of merchantability,warranty of fitness for any particular purpose or any other implied warranty.

How long will it take for my order to be ready?

Production time is 3-4 weeks on average for most orders. Depending on which method our clients choose, air shipping takes either 1-2 weeks Vs sea shipping which takes 8-10 weeks. Feel free to reachout to our team for further details.

Do I need a special tile installer?

We recommend hiring installers who have experience laying stone products and installing mosaics. Feel free to contact Zellij Gallery for recommendations in your area. Zellij Gallery provides artisan installation services for large projects with intricate patterns.

How much overage is needed?

To avoid a large range in color variation, it is best to order 10%- 15% extra to complete your installation. Also, it is recommended that a professional tile contractor or installer does the calculations of the measurements and quantities to avoid any miscalculations.

What color grout should be used with zellij?

Moroccans only use concrete to bond and install zellij tiles, which makes the joins appear grey.Therefore, we recommend grey grout for our clients, who want the authentic traditional Moroccan look.For more contemporary projects with monochromatic color schemes, we do sometimes recommendalternative colors.

Are zellij tiles frost resistant?

Zellij Gallery tiles are made in Morocco and are perfectly suited to warm climates. Zellij tiles have also been used in some colder regions. If you are located in a region that experiences frost and you would like to use zellij tiles outdoors, we recommend using a frost-resistant sealant.

Can zellij tiles be used indoors and outdoors?

Yes, Zellij tiles are suitable for indoor and outdoor applications.

Do zellij gallery tiles need to be sealed?

Glazed tiles do not need to be sealed, as the glaze rejects liquids such as water and oil. However, we do highly recommend sealing any unglazed tiles such as the Raw terra cotta or cement tile, since they naturally absorb fluids. For more information, please speak with the Zellij Gallery team.

Do mosaic tile sheets come mesh-mounted?

No Zellij product should ever be produced on mesh. All Zellij Gallery mosaic tile sheets have a solid backing. We use a special type of adhesive which bonds well with concrete and thin-set.

Should the color and size variations be expected?

All Zellij Gallery Moroccan Tile Products are entirely handmade and, therefore, vary in color, size and appearance. Therein lies the charm and individuality of handmade products. The color, size, and appearance of the actual Goods received may vary from those depicted in Zellij Gallery catalogs and websites. Material should be installed by pulling from all crates or boxes to insure optimal blending of shade variation. No adjustment can be made once the material has been installed.

Can zellij tiles be used in wet areas, such as fountains, pools and showers?

Yes, Zellij tiles have been used in wet areas throughout history. All of our color glazes are waterproof, with the exception of our (raw terra cotta), which is unglazed and therefore not resistant to water. If values for characteristics such as absorption or coefficient of friction are required, please contact us in writing before placing order. No claims for any tile order will be accepted after installation.

What is Zellij?

Zellij/ Zellige/ Zillij tiles can be likened to mosaic tiles, and in the United States, this is often how they are described. In Morocco, the term zellij is much more common. It’s used to describe even the raw material that is used to make a wide range of Moroccan tiles including mosaic tiles, chiseled tiles and loose field tiles.
